The No Code Mode
Most website designers build amazing sites; a fact we can’t deny. However, the trend is using tons of code and css to customize features. Once management of those sites is transferred back to the owner, updates become difficult because let’s face it, coding can be confusing.
We’re here to save small businesses money, right? My goal is to build you an impactful, dynamic site without tons of code. This allows me to set you up for success where you can manage your site without purchasing additional maintenance. You can use the platforms built-in features and supported add-ons to customize and make seasonal edits without the hassle of code. But! If you do want to use code or need maintenance for an a site we didn’t build, we’re always available to help.
CMS platforms like Squarespace are designed for you to build great sites with dynamic features and no code. Now I’m not saying code isn’t necessary at times but when we design a site for you we make sure you have all of the tools you need to manage the site (& the code) on your own if need be. If you have a Squarespace site with code issues, no designer or can’t budget for one right now; we’ve got you covered. The best place to start is the Squarespace forum. Submit any code related questions and a custom designer familiar with it is bound to reply. In addition to your web hosts forums, you can always reach out to us and we’ll be happy to get you pointed in the right direction.
CDCo is equipped and determined to build fully functioning sites with minimal code. We only apply code to our designs when the client requests it or a feature that only code will support is needed. Not all code is bad code but some CMS platforms do not work well with poorly built coded features. For example, Squarespace advertises in several areas of their Knowledge Base that they cannot guarantee code will work properly on your site. They even go as far as not troubleshooting code, that goes to show you how complicated code can be.
Our job is to design/refresh a site for you and give you the tools you need to manage that site without spending more money later on. Your site (depending on the package) will be equipped with an overview of analytics, email campaigns SMS marketing, shipping and more. CSS can be applied for some customizing like header layouts, fonts and others but it is not necessary. When your site is completed you’ll receive ownership access and a custom toolkit to make sure you know how to manage the features we’ve added.
